Ojai Valley Sanitary District
Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade
Project Description.
The $20 million project upgraded the plant effluent into the
environmentally sensitive Ventura River. The 2.5 year project
essentially removed and replaced all existing process elements and
changed the process from trickling filters and RBCs to Oxidation
Ditches. The project required major temporary facilities for
on-going operations. The project was reduced from three (3)
construction phases to two (2) phases based on the contractor’s
proposal to temporarily convert existing equalization basins to
chlorine contact basins during the work. The project was completed
with less than 2% change orders.
